“Lenten Journey,” banner for Transfiguration Catholic Church, Marietta, Georgia

For several weeks during Lent each year, violet and gold streams of light track across the sanctuary floor. The image on the banner is painted with this same light source and presents lent as a journey with the promise of Easter in the distant sky. This complex image can relate to the different readings and homilies during the Lenten season. The violet tones in the painting are the same color as the vestments and altar cloth.
