Fox and Hare

In the St. Francis Prayer Garden designed by Dale R. Molnar, the tableau at the feet of St. Francis presents the Peaceable Kingdom. The fox and hare express in their gestures the two aspects of atonement. The fox is quiet, non-aggressive and presents its neck to the hare. The hare is not cowering, but reaches out to the fox. Atonement is fulfilled when transgressors take responsibility to right their wrongs, while those who have been harmed forgive the wrongdoers.
